Noticed this on the Mastodon roadmap under "exploring".How do I voice strong opposition to this idea? I can think of several ways this would put people in marginalised communities at risk.Edit: the GitHub issue you're looking for is https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/21795

@thegibson It honestly beggars belief that someone even remotely familiar with this platform and moderation on the fediverse would think this is at all a good idea.

@aendra it is a long running trend that bad decisions keep getting made.

@thegibson @aendraIf they go through with this, I say we jump over to supporting a fork that rejects this change. Contributing documentation, bug reports, money, code, assistance answering questions on the issue tracker that don't require code changes... whatever people are willing and able to contribute.I'd prefer a fork that has a .deb package so upgrades are faster and smoother (and in my case, automatic).

@thegibson @aendra As long as there is a smooth upgrade path, I'm willing to put in a fair amount oglf time & effort on this.
