@codesections Which language isn't targeted at Big Tech at this point?Whenever I see any discussion regarding popularity, there's always this implication of "it's not popular until a big organization uses it".Even outside specific discussions on popularity, seeing people drool over threads like "<corp> is using <language>!!" linking to blogs talking about (relatively) insignificant pieces of infrastructure makes me sad. Where are the individuals? Why focus on the big organizations?

@codesections > That was actually almost exactly what my talk at fosdem yesterday was about! Is there any video available yet? I'd like to give it a watch.> I think raku does a really good job at being targeted at individuals [...]I've been meaning to check out Raku (and a long list of other languages) at some point and never really got around to it. I really should at some point...

@wolf480pl Windows 7's Aero was the peak of "modern" UI and nobody can convince me otherwise.

@LinuxReviews > Moonlander will present a message saying Moonlander has encountered a fatal error and had to shut down. immediately after opening a window if you don't supply it with a gemini:// address as an argumentThe latest build should fix this. It was hard to debug as it didn't happen on my setup, something to do with the default homepage URL.> Keyboard shortcuts of any kind are not implemented.F5 and CTRL+L was implemented, though I just also added CTRL+Q and CTRL+T1/

@LinuxReviews CTRL+W will require a bit more work, so I'll add it later on.I don't use many shortcuts when browsing, so that's why they aren't implemented just yet.> box with some information about Moonlander with a Close button on it. Pressing the Close does, of course, not close that window. I cannot reproduce this. Works fine on my end.> There is no functionality for bookmarking Gemini sites. There is a bookmarks bar, which you seem to be using in your screenshot.2/

@LinuxReviews If that's not what you mean, I'd like to hear more about what exactly you'd like.Otherwise, thanks for the review. Bit harsh, but I cannot deny that Moonlander is still somewhat buggy.

@LinuxReviews Oh, that close button doesn't appear for me. It's probably something to do with GTK's built-in AboutDialog and the desktop environment/window manager you're using. I'll see if I can reproduce it.

@LinuxReviews Can you test the latest commit? I tried a fix but not entirely sure if it works.

@LinuxReviews > Other browsers, and terminals, tend to have ctrl+ to make it larger and ctrl- to make it smaller and ctrl0 to reset the text size.I intend to get on this at some point, though at the moment you might want to change the font size from the configuration file as a workaround until then.> Send me a message if you make an actual release, that's something I can write a short one about as "news". There's a long way until then... You can probably tell :p

Apparently my Gemini site has been down for a couple hours. That's fixed.I also did CI for it because I could, so i should be able to just™ git push and have it update

@brandondrone.ioNeat little thing. I thought it "went corporate" and started limiting the free self-hosted option but so far it doesn't seem like that's the case

@brandon Nope. I'm directly mounting the web/gemini root into the build container and calling it a day. It's not the bestest way, but it works™.

STOP SCALING UP- SOFTWARE SHOULD NOT SUPPOSED TO SCALE- YEARS OF SCALING yet NO REAL WORLD USE FOUND for going higher than YOUR FAMILY- Wanted to go higher anyway for a laugh? We had a tool for that: It was called "EVERYONE HAVING THEIR OWN SERVERS"- "Yes please give me 5 instances of Redis. Please cluster my databases in Kubernetes Docker Container Pods" - Statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged

The downtime happened because I was migrating my static sites to Git, which I can do now because of my new inventionhttps://sr.ht/~admicos/gitserv/When I create a new repo on https://git.ebc.li/www, it will instantly be available to view as a HTML site, just like, say, GitHub Pages. That's kinda neat I think. There is a lack of documentation I need to somehow address before I can share this with the wider world, though boosts and whatnot are fine if you want to i guess
