Moonlander is a plain and quite buggy Gemini capsule browser written in #Rust using the #GTK toolkit. It has no functionality beyond the ability to display gemini:// sites. It lets you view #Gemini sites if you figure out how to start it without crashing.Moonlander is developed by @admicoshttps://linuxreviews.org/Moonlander

@LinuxReviews > Moonlander will present a message saying Moonlander has encountered a fatal error and had to shut down. immediately after opening a window if you don't supply it with a gemini:// address as an argumentThe latest build should fix this. It was hard to debug as it didn't happen on my setup, something to do with the default homepage URL.> Keyboard shortcuts of any kind are not implemented.F5 and CTRL+L was implemented, though I just also added CTRL+Q and CTRL+T1/

@LinuxReviews CTRL+W will require a bit more work, so I'll add it later on.I don't use many shortcuts when browsing, so that's why they aren't implemented just yet.> box with some information about Moonlander with a Close button on it. Pressing the Close does, of course, not close that window. I cannot reproduce this. Works fine on my end.> There is no functionality for bookmarking Gemini sites. There is a bookmarks bar, which you seem to be using in your screenshot.2/

@LinuxReviews If that's not what you mean, I'd like to hear more about what exactly you'd like.Otherwise, thanks for the review. Bit harsh, but I cannot deny that Moonlander is still somewhat buggy.

@admicos It's just a web page on a site nobody reads, and it can be updated as software changes. It doesn't crash on startup anymore, so I guess I'll have to update that.I still can't get the "Close" button to close the About thing no matter how many times I press it.

@LinuxReviews Oh, that close button doesn't appear for me. It's probably something to do with GTK's built-in AboutDialog and the desktop environment/window manager you're using. I'll see if I can reproduce it.

@LinuxReviews Can you test the latest commit? I tried a fix but not entirely sure if it works.

@admicos The "close" button works now. \o/I updated https://linuxreviews.org/Moonlander to reflect that 😜

@admicos One thing I know people with poor eye-sight would appreciate is text scaling. Other browsers, and terminals, tend to have ctrl+ to make it larger and ctrl- to make it smaller and ctrl0 to reset the text size. The default text size seems fine on my screen. My eye-sight isn't that bad, though. Send me a message if you make an actual release, that's something I can write a short one about as "news". Also, the pages on my site do have a "edit" button in case there's factual errors. 🤔

@LinuxReviews > Other browsers, and terminals, tend to have ctrl+ to make it larger and ctrl- to make it smaller and ctrl0 to reset the text size.I intend to get on this at some point, though at the moment you might want to change the font size from the configuration file as a workaround until then.> Send me a message if you make an actual release, that's something I can write a short one about as "news". There's a long way until then... You can probably tell :p
