@dick_turpin when I was a kid we didn't have uniform until secondary education, now its from reception. Sadly many schools use it as a protection racket to increase funds. My kid's state secondary charges £30 for a school shirt, £40 for a jumper, and nearly £60 for school trousers. They're monogrammed with school logo and un-monagrammed trousers are not allowed. And of that is before you get to the PE kit.Its crooked.

@mansr @wyliecoyoteuk I try really hard not to do this. On the rare occasions I want to post content from one of the monolith sites like YT I try to source a link on a frontend service like invidious. Its much easier now I have all my devices set to redirect links to these places to the openspurce alternatives.

There should be laws against people who sit on tables with too large a capacity for them when coffee shops are busy.4 of us crowded around a tiny table while a table of six is sat at by two and all the four tables are occupied by people on their own.

I wanted to get the train to #UKGE tomorrow. But even with the rail cards the cost would be over £60. Taking the car will cost a maximum of £7 in electrons and £13 to park.It's no comparison.
