@Ari @tangleofsnakes Here’s what I don’t get. Wouldn’t being pregnant cause massive gender disphoria? I mean if simply mentioning someone’s former name is a crisis of epic proportions, you’d think doing THE most female thing in the world would be 1000 times worse. So much of the trans operating manual is confusing and contradictory.

@Ari @Raunchel @operaghost Been around the movement since 1970. This has been my experience as well. Insofar as gay men are interested in women at all, it's divas and glamour queens, not lesbians in sensible shoes*. This is why so many gay pride marches separated out into the Dyke March, and also the trans march which sadly, so many of my lesbian friends support. The reason for this is simple, whether men are willing to admit it or not: if they don't want to fuck you, then they have no use for you.*affectionate humour, no need to get triggered :)

@Ari @snerber We are not "trained" to know, but we certainly are "equipped" to know, with our goddess-given powers of observation, and intelligence. The machine is constructed to prevent you from seeing the machine. Learning to see it is one of the most important steps on becoming a feminist. Learning to stop propping it up is another. I'm also not saying monogamy should be trashed. I lived through a previous iteration of that "anti-patriarchal rule" and it was very painful as my then-partner used it as justification to cheat on me. Of course I was not allowed to complain because that was just me "buying into the patriarchy."

@AnungIkwe @typeadhd Also look at the way the ribs are all streaky, a typical use of the smudge tool. Clearly whoever did this was trying to merge them with the copy/pasted abs, and doing a piss-poor job. The same weird blurring is happening around the waist as well, and it seems slightly grey. The abs are a warmer colour. I’m not too bothered by the light, to me it looks like it comes from the same source, which is mostly backlit.

It was a protest march, a show of visibility and solidarity, in protest of the Stonewall raids in particular, but also against the constant police victimization of gays, raiding our bars, raiding bathhouses, taking people off to be beaten, taking people into custody at work, to make sure that whatever legal penalties people faced for being "found in a common bawdy house" they would most certainly lose their jobs. Nowadays, with "diversity" being so hip and cool, with the corporate world's discovery that gay men have lots of $$ to spend on product, city government's discovery that "parades" bring in big bucks, there is now all kinds of financing from corporations and government. Of course for their money they want a nice, family-friendly, happy, Disney-esque "parade".No.It's not a fucking corporate parade. It is not your local church-group picnic. It's not "Pride" it's "Gay Pride". It's an in-your-face celebration with its roots in protest, of ALL things queer: jockstraps, leather dykes, and especially sexuality, which is, after all, what defines us.It's not FOR children despite the coloured balloons. Take them somewhere else, somewhere more age-appropriate.

What I do trust however, are all the first hand accounts from frontline health-care workers, begging people to do whatever they can to stop the spread. My mom always said "err on the side of caution." To me that means wearing a mask even though it's inconvenient and Trump said not to, having a vaccine despite the chance I may never get Covid anyway, or that some people are experiencing side effects. Those side effects are immune system reactions. Both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines use the spike protein DNA to create immunity. There is no actual viral DNA in the vaccine at all. I consider this to be the safest approach and worth taking if it helps us get the disease under control. I really wonder how selfish, stubborn, and arrogant someone has to be to think they know better than nurses, doctors, epidemiologists, people who have long-haul Covid, people who nearly died of Covid....?On another note, Lyme disease is spreading all over North America and the reason there's no vaccine is because in the 1990s, when there was a vaccine called Lymerix, a bunch of anti-vaxxers did so much fear-mongering that people stopped taking it and the company quit making it because it wasn't worth their while.
