       @gargron I guess directories of that many people are often less useful than search, recommendation and "friends of friends". Remember the good old phone book? The online versions do search only. There used to be CD-ROM-edeitions where you had an Excel-like list, that could be filtered, but probably also because of people abusing well accessible directories, I have not seen them in a long time.

       @milan regularly check the backups! It seems restic can base new backups on already broken ones. Had to start over. Probably because using fuse-ftpfs was a bad idea.

       @fasterthanlime really great article! And a question to a tiny side detail. You write, that you can't control mutability in Java, and while this is true for arrays and other objects you store you can at least declare fields final and ensure that value or pointer sticks. Don't know why I had to comment on that, but I enjoyed all of the article non the less. Right now I am happy nit to write Go. Have a nice weekend
