@nilikm The Israeli flag is the flag of a nation, not a religion. That nation is pursuing a genocide against Palestinians. The conflation of Jews, Israeli citizens, the Israeli nation and Zionists was deliberate allowing the government of Israel to hide behind the veil of antisemitism whenever they are accused of atrocities. But do continue with the propaganda.

@stux Cute little chonkers.Likely coincidental, but Hodaka made a Combat Wombat motocross back in the early 1970s. A friend of mine had one. Similar to this:

@thomasfuchs When I started in grade 1, there was a vaccination team there. Everyone got a shot, then a few weeks later a second shot, no exceptions, no excuses. No shots, no school.Polio, smallpox, and the like were still in recent memory, so people were very familiar with how important vaccinations are.I still ended up with chicken pox, mumps and measles in the first three months of school and was sick as hell. (The MMR vaccine wasn't available in my area yet)

@nic I wish to contribute the Turbo-Encabulator:For a number of years now, work has been proceeding in order to bring perfection to the crudely conceived idea of a transmission that would not only supply inverse reactive current for use in unilateral phase detractors, but would also be capable of automatically synchronizing cardinal grammeters. Such an instrument is the turbo encabulator. Now basically the only new principle involved is that instead of power being generated by the relative motion of conductors and fluxes, it is produced by the modial interaction of magneto-reluctance and capacitive diractance. The original machine had a base plate of pre-famulated amulite surmounted by a malleable logarithmic casing in such a way that the two spurving bearings were in a direct line with the panametric fan. The latter consisted simply of six hydrocoptic marzlevanes, so fitted to the ambifacient lunar waneshaft that side fumbling was effectively prevented. The main winding was of the normal lotus-o-delta type placed in panendermic semi-boloid slots of the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdle spring on the β€œup” end of the grammeters. The turbo-encabulator has now reached a high level of development, and it’s being successfully used in the operation of novertrunnions. Moreover, whenever a forescent skor motion is required, it may also be employed in conjunction with a drawn reciprocation dingle arm, to reduce sinusoidal repleneration.”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac7G7xOG2Ag&t=1s

@Natasha_Jay @NeonPurpleStar US and Canada. GM is in the same boat as they recently dropped the Malibu and Camaro, leaving only the Corvette. Everything left is an SUV or truck.Stellantis' NA brands are basically dying on the vine.

@Kierkegaanks By way of comparison, notice the beautifully curved styling on the SSK. Also notice the lack of fire.

@SnowshadowII @EllenJS I don't think a lot of Americans realize just how much anxiety this talk of annexation has been causing.Satire lands pretty flat when your country is in the crosshairs.

@stux It's pretty big, I guess. πŸ™‚ I can't imagine the hassle of maneuvering a full-size pickup in Europe. They're roughly the same footprint as a Transit or Sprinter, and few drive those for fun.

@stux Antonov An-225 Mriya, the big sister of the An-124 Ruslan.Only one was built, it was operated by Ukraine and the Russians destroyed it early in the invasion. There is a second An-225 that was partially completed. Some discussion has taken place of completing it once the war has concluded. Very cool clip in any event.

@OrdRadical @Kierkegaanks IIRC, once they're on their own, they're loaded. My ex had a summer job back in university at a forest ranger's station. One of the rangers brought in 3 or 4 skunk kits, after their mum had been hit by a car. Ex looked after them until they could be transferred to a local wildlife centre. After that they'd be released. They followed her around the station and were apparently fun to play with. She's back living in the country, and has a skunk that is a regular visitor, sometimes with kits. They keep a respectful distance, and no issues. She's careful to make noise when leaving the house. Wouldn't want to startle her. Apparently her cat and the mother skunk get on okay too. So far.

@Kierkegaanks Gatekeeping hotdogs is never cool, unless it's from a health perspective. Scarcely qualifies as non-toxic.Having said that, mustard, ketchup, and diced onions work for me.

@futurebird It was very rare to get Mormon missionaries in New Brunswick. I was just heading from the bus stop to my house when two approached me. I said: "Thanks fellas. I'm an atheist so not interested, but I do like your TV commercials."The look I got was akin to an alien first encountering life on Earth. They gawked for a bit, turned heel and fled. That was about 25 years ago. Never encountered any since.

@stux This was the most common pickup back int he 1980s. Three-across seating and an 8' (2.4M) long bed. It was designed around hauling dimensional lumber and building materials. The bulk of them were bought by tradesman, farmers and the like. The most common pickups now have enormous cabs with seating for 5 or 6, and tiny beds (5.5' (1.7m) being common), more suitable for hauling a few bikes or bags of black earth. A huge number are now bought by suburbanites and used for little to nothing more adventurous than commuting.
