@LukaszD I wish there was another whole system desktop isolation system like snap. Many people complain about it, but there isn't anything else out there.

@LukaszD I don't think that's a whole system package manager solution like snap is either. It can't include things like nvidia drivers, gnome desktop environment or a linux kernel, for example.

@BeAware I have an account on #nostr and use it occasionally. I don't really embrace it. It sort of fixes problems people don't really have. I understand it "fixes" the issue where people can't really be banned from twitter/X, threads, or a mastodon instance, but sometimes those people really should be banned. Nostr does fix an issue of servers going down. However, every large instance signed the server convent and has backups. So outages never really last for too long.

@NonPlayableClown @feld @hyc I'm saying crypto makes it easier to see how much someone has. Criminals don't have any incentive to go after the poor. Of course cops will still use their typical methods to track down the criminal. Although it will be a lot harder for the police to get the stolen money back.
