@Jim @Unsolicited This makes sense when you consider game devs don't want you to have time to play more than one or two times. Everything has tacked on RPG numbers and season passes to force you to grind their game and nothing else. Then comes a game like Deep Rock Galactic that only asks for 3GB and is insanely replayable.

@Jim Their launch video is pretty accurate to who they're marketing towards. They want millennials who own multimillion dollar homes/apartments who have nothing better to do than rubber stamp the new banner ad on their website. It's for people who are so disconnected from reality they're desperate for anything new or novel. This thing doesn't do anything practical. It's an extremely overpriced toy for rich kids.

@ForbiddenDreamer @Bead @TeaTootler @Jim Troons will take literally any grab at power they can no matter how small. It used to be more like a creative writing community. But of course troons aren't capable of writing, entertaining, or anything that could be considered fun so they turned it into their blog of self inserts.

@Jim @Bad_Banner I think you've also described why it will never work. The truth is people don't want something that works. The system is broken by design. Fuck being fair. Why be fair when we can use the force of government to get everything we want and humiliate you? We can destroy you, your family, everything you've ever loved, and force you to thank us for it. That's exactly what we're seeing now whether it's government, media, even locally people would rather see the entire thing burn to the ground than relinquish even an inch of ground. The plan is to take everything they can, live like total degenerates, and make sure there is nothing left for the next generation. Even if someone could come up with a perfect plan that is perfectly fair, is simple enough that everyone in the world could easily follow it, and would ensure happiness for everyone forever, no one would want it.

@JubtheNub @sudebu @Jim @Bad_Banner Jim's already said a bit on the education system. I think he's very aware of the issue. No child left behind destroyed the future of so many children. Rather than catching kids up to standard we hand wave it away, push them through, and leave them to figure it all out on their own. Never mind physical education we have kids who can't do basic math.

@JubtheNub @sudebu @Jim @Bad_Banner It's an extremely rare trait for a person to have any kind of self control. The reason first world countries have an obesity problem is because the lifestyle allows you to be slothful and overfed. It also means the food we consume is designed for taste before health or efficiency. The two are not something developing nations can afford. You can't afford a sedentary lifestyle because you need to work hard to eat at all. What you do is is likely to be very simple and properly portioned rather than feasting every night because you're bored. If the whole global was rich you'd see the same lack of self control everywhere.But you are right that health and physical education is important. It's not really a zero sum game, we can have both. But I don't think you really require a school in order to be fit and healthy. Most of this should fall on the parents. They should be the ones teaching their kids how to take care of themselves. We see how invasive the school system is with grooming, I don't trust them to teach kids about health. Maybe in a different timeline, but not one where the teachers can't even tell you what the difference between a boy and a girl is.

@Jim It could be recent enough that they don't really know what happened. A company as big as Amazon probably does not talk between departments at all. This leaves customer reps to basically give it their best guess what's going on as far as they know until something comes down from on high. That's my guess anyway.
