@UROCKlive1 @nedhamson Chairman Comer (and others in the GQP leadership) will soon realize that it might be better to chirp some horseshit to please the base and then shut up rather than chirp some horseshit to please the base then seek out facts that illustrate the horseshit. It won’t matter to the base either way but the GQP will lose the support of valuable independent voters who will be watching for the facts that come out of the investigation.

@seth Define God. : )There are definitions of God that satisfied Einstein and versions of God that Einstein did not subscribe to (those latter versions seem to coincide largely with the supposed God worshipped by evangelicals). My understanding is that Einstein is not unfamiliar with science, so maybe the two beliefs can be held at the same time.

@MichaelPorter @seth He may have been agnostic (I don’t know enough to comment) but he seems to refer to his idea of God in a few quotes that I have seen. Defining God as the universe and all natural laws seems that he defines God to be equal to Science. So, based on Einstein’s definition, OP’s kid does believe in God. : )

@MichaelPorter @seth True, not any old definition. But Einstein seemed to have found one that served his purpose of addressing the questions.

@seth @MichaelPorter I am not quite there. I do believe that I have no fucking clue, but I don’t have the optimism for me that you have for you. : )

@elaine Maybe you can buy compounds of cyanide (or containing cyanide) on amazon, the purer forms are probably not available. For those of you scoring at home, you can find forms of cyanide in peach pits and hydrogen cyanide (stuff that can kill instantly) in cigarette smoke.

@lowqualityfacts Which is why they need an efficient rail system: not one train has ever been late.https://mapsontheweb.zoom-maps.com/post/679274371986210816/a-map-of-the-railways-in-antarcticaAlt Text for the linked image: a map shows an outline of the land mass of Antarctica. Land mass filled in pale yellow, surrounding water filled in light blue. The Legend in the lower left shows a thin green line to represent “Railway Lines” and a red triangle to represent “Stations”. There are no green lines or red triangles anywhere else on the map.

@kravietz @gerrymcgovern Copper went into the manufacture of the device that made the post, the devices that read the post, and the electricity that made it all happen.A growing global population with more and more connectivity will put even more of a squeeze on copper.

@BootsChantilly I saw it in a Scholastic book (maybe it was titled “Boiling Water in a Paper Cup”)in Grade 4, some time in the Cenozoic Era. In my laziness, after a while I just got to remember the numbers rather than going through the physical effort of counting.

Please only take the survey if you are a non-guy or do not identify as a guy, even though you may be cosplaying one for the time being. As for the guys, please wait over there for a moment ::motions to a set of several The Chairs:: edit: You can select the “Guy in “The Chair”, watching” option, which will give you access to the results.Edit: Oops. Editing the poll resets it. 620 people had responded. The results were 7%/44%/49% to that point. Please boost for visibility. The survey question:How do you feel about the use of the term “guys” for addressing a group that includes at least one non-guy?

In honour of Trans History Week:Before internet…Before corporate dial-up services like Compu$erve, AOL (almost online), GEnie, etc.…Before the bulletin boards…In the 1980’s the sources of trans information were few and far between. One treasured source was a magazine called Tapestry (née TV-TS Tapestry). Looking through the archive, I recognize the second edition of the full-colour magazine format was one that I had purchased in 1987.This magazine was available at a specialty magazine store or, more likely, at a porn magazine store.Tapestry had a mixed audience of TV and TS. In the 80’s I was still figuring out what I was so I suppose it’s true that, “when the student is ready to learn, the teacher will appear.”Compared to buying a daily newspaper to find information, the distastefulness of going to a seedy porn shop, Tapestry was an oasis.By comparison the 90’s were the Golden Age.But I wonder what happened to the TV/CD’s.https://www.digitaltransgenderarchive.net/catalog?f%5Bcollection_name_ssim%5D%5B%5D=Transgender+Tapestry&page=1&per_page=25&sort=dta_sortable_date_dtsi+asc%2C+title_primary_ssort+asc#transhistory
