@EarlThePearls The Dallas-Ft. Worth has been 10-digit dialing for over 20 years now. It always surprises me when I go on site to another state and they are still using 7-digit dialing.

@watch4thedrop @redwhitebluedude @hnijohnmiller nice, yours were probably in much better shape than ours. We gut everything and rebuild in most of the houses. Hoarder houses and all. I thought about getting a RE license but decided against it for now because we really have a great Realtor and we have never had a problem with a tenant.

@watch4thedrop @redwhitebluedude @hnijohnmiller Well, we were getting 1% rent of the value of the house, but the housing prices are just insane now and haven't kept up with rents. So one house is worth $350k and we only get $2300/mo in rent. Thought about selling one of the more expensive houses and buying 2 cheaper ones, but again, prices are crazy now, even before prices.

@EarlThePearls @watch4thedrop @redwhitebluedude @hnijohnmiller Yes, we are planning to sell the HVAC business and retire in a few years. Since my husband is in and out of people's houses all day, it's hard to hide things from him. He sees multiple people on his route that thought they had enough to retire and one of them got sick with the big C. Unfortunately, it's hard to estimate retirement when one illness can wipe it all out.

@holymolyrocky Yes, I was just there a couple of weeks ago, and my coworker who lives there said there are several places that are just not safe to go to anymore. He took me through a few neighborhoods that were all boarded up, I guess those were safe enough to drive through. He's a big anti-Trumper, hopefully he will begin to understand.

@ThomasWic We've bought 2 hoarder houses in our day. One filled with bio waste, the woman was very sick in her last days and died in the house. The other was all brand new items filled to the ceilings in every room. We had to take the doors off the hinges to get in the bedrooms. That one took four 40-yd dumpsters to get rid of it all even while some neighbors were trying to save some of it.
