@MardiShakti "Angel claims Wachowski is obsessed with Marilyn Monroe and likes to wear a blonde wig, pink dresses and stiletto heels before being punished by his mistress and acting as her slave."Why do guys with submissive tendencies claim they are women all the f--king time? This is just such a miserable reflection on gender. You are not woke for breaking gender norms, you just know you're to famous and get praise for everything you do anyway. And I'm sure Norma Jean would hate to be the inspiration for these pervs.

@Chronic-Yonic Also:This graphic seems to include vice-presidents as well, which don't hold the same power as presidents. There was never a female president in the USA, Turkey, Slovenia, Poland or Ukraine - and I assume for many other listed countries as well. There were "only" female prime-ministers, respectively vice-presidents. I don't want to underestimate the work they did, but it's worth noting, that the head of the country were still always men in these examples.Austria's president holds more of symbolic role, so the prime-minister here actually holds more political power. Brigitte Bierlein held this position only for a few months. The reign of Édith Cresson, France's first and only female prime-minister was the shortest in France's history. She did made some major mistakes, don't get me wrong, but men still don't get cancelled for doing worse.Feel free to correct me if I was wrong. I did a quick research for a few countries I was sure never had a woman for president, but I might have overlooked some details.

Has anyone here on Spinster ever written Wikipedia articles? I wanna start, but I don't wanna join a network (yet) because it's to committing for now. Any advice on what to keep an eye out? I'm not looking for technical advice, I've read into that, but I'm a little bummed out already thinking about possible interactions with misogynistic dudes debating relevance on articles about women and changing / deleting stuff based on their close-minded, hateful brains.Planning on focusing on women, but also stuff I'm interested in and don't see enough content about. Any advice or insight from (active) users is welcome :purple_sparkling_heart:

Thanks for this reply, I will definitely do more research about it. And it's funny how the left ignores or even celebrates said "plantation parties" while they actively try to put an end to weddings or other celebrations on former plantations. The first time I've heard about BDSM and the master and slave dynamic I wasn't even a very political person, I was too young, maybe 14 or so. But I've found it strange already how it's okay to use the word "slave" for people who willingly submit to other people. That's all so f--ked up, sex is the excuse to do all kinds of racist, inhumane shit. And they will even call you a bigot or close-minded to point that out. Neo-liberal bs talk.

Aaaaah, the "work through your trauma crowd". Funny how it's always the oppressors who try to force this self-proclaimed therapy on others. I'm sorry for the people who fell for it, must only add up to their terrible experiences.

Demisexuality is pure bs. It's absolutely fine and a sign of a healthy self-image to want to feel secure and appreciated in someone's presence before having sex with them. Libfems think they're so inclusive with their sexualities, but they've adapted to patriarchal ideas about sexuality pretty quickly. If demisexuality is some kind of weird flex you need to explain like you're outing yourself as a fetishist then the norm (for which there is no term I'm aware of) is to feel sexually attracted to people without the slightest connection whatsoever. This may be true for men who are socialized to be emotionally handicapped and have no idea what it means to feel close to someone anyway, but I wouldn't advice to set up those norms based on their incompetence. Not saying there aren't any women around who just like to fuck so much they don't care about personality. But since it's evidently less likely for women to orgasm the first time you get intimate with a guy it's at least somewhat in your own interest to invest some time with the other person. Is this demisexuality? No, it just means you're not willing to be a living masturbation enhancer for the other person and expect some basic decency.Men can go f--k themselves with these labels, women don't need to alienate themselves or apologize for not offering three gaping holes at any time like they expect women with a "normal sexuality" to.

Trans is just a subcategory of feminism. Or maybe it's the other way round, I forgot. Anyway, you don't need to do anything, you did quite enough by being trans. Go reward yourself with some porn for being such a good ally to women <3

@AnungIkwe "We also reject the idea that women consent to or are to blame for their oppression. Women's submission is not the result of brainwashing, stupidity, or mental illness but of continual, daily pressure from men. We do not need to change ourselves, but to change men."This. Men like to argue that our system benefits women as well. But when women talk about the benefits of patriarchal ideas their main motivation is - always - fear. Fear of getting raped when we ban prostitution, fear of not getting a job if we demand too many "benefits" (e.g., maternal leave), fear of stigmatization if we stop performing femininity. Every excuse to our own dehumanization is rooted in fear of even worse circumstances. Women know damn well who is in power and behave accordingly to live a somewhat dignified life. Men are threatening women, as a class, to perform self-destructive and still feel generous for "letting" us work and vote. This is not empowering, we still have very little say or else we wouldn't be forced to take those shitty deals.

@sunspot @Tiggy @You_cat_to_be_kitten_me Damn, that's a really good question. I mean, depictions of that have been around for years and I can imagine there is actually a term for that. But what's funny is that a rather niche fetish has a term which is rather known to society and a very established concept remains a mystery for most. Our society is so oversexualized. I would actually love to read more about it, how depicting animals with human traits started, what traits depend on the culture and why we like it so much. Instead I'm being spammed with knowledge I didn't seek actively. It's sad. I'm going to read more about Fontaine now :blob_cat:

@socjuswiz I'll reply, even if you posted this a few weeks ago and maybe matched with someone(s) in the meantime.I like the first picture. It's casual and I find the light flattering. The second one with the thumbs up is okay, but I would prefer more pictures of you doing something you like. Like on a hike, drinking tea all cozied up or another depiction of you just being you (I don't know if you're into hikes or tea, it was just an example). The pictures both show your face, but they don't really tell a lot about you. For example, people like pictures of animals in their natural habitat, not on a blank canvas. You are pro radfem, women who share your political views are often hesitant to meet men, especially through dating platforms. How alienating your views (and profile descriptions) are to women I don't know. Maybe this is something to think about as well.
