I don't see any possibility of compromise, and I also do not accept "dissolution of the US". So ... we simply have to hold the line and outlast them. Since they insist on denying science, they are killing themselves off faster than we are.

But the GOP has patiently put into place a political structure that guarantees their stranglehold on our government for the foreseeable future, and they're reinforcing that structure daily. Nationally, the GOP is also exploring the built in bias in our government that amplifies rural votes. It's happening today

I've lived 82 years and watched the gradual move in this country from apartheid, through desegregation, to at least nominal equality, only to watch that progress crumble to dust in many states and deadlock our federal government. Have you not noticed that women are forced to carry dead babies in this country? That LGBTQ people are marginalized? That cops murder people of color?

@lowqualityfacts <rant>I'm sure there are commercial reasons, but it's irritating when anyone worries about numbers of followers, analytics, etc. Social media is a place to interact & discuss; to vent & rant as an antidote to insanity. Why does it have to be exploited for commerce? I will admit to appreciating discovery of art/music here, and I love that it keeps me abreast of current events, but Twitter was a constant barrage of thinly disguised commercialism that ruined that platform for me

@foolishowl @ParanoidFactoid Women in the culture I grew up in were totally brainwashed to "accept their position". I know literally hundreds of women who are content to accept the "conservative" patriarchy - many of them are my relatives. There are young women all over the country (especially the South) right now that have been raised in evangelical Christian churches who are apt to fall right into that trap. Some will break the programming, but most will not have the resources 😪
