       @mentallyalex @guncelawits @TonyStark @tomlevenson That's what I thought - especially about places like Florida where there is great racial diversity & constant inflow of new population. But the GOP has patiently put into place a political structure that guarantees their stranglehold on our government for the foreseeable future, and they're reinforcing that structure daily. Nationally, the GOP is also exploring the built in bias in our government that amplifies rural votes. It's happening today

They've almost always been bad faith actors working against the systems they claim to help people. "That's what I thought" is a negative hopeless stance that does nothing but work to assist the GQP and the Republicans.Hope is from a position of self and internal. You might feel hope from something external, but it build it from within.The Fascists are our enemy. They want to hurt you and me. The forces of Fascism are rapidly eroding the move to a progressive future for us. Each of us, in addition to hoping, must undertake to wake the entire community to the danger posed by the "conservative" politicians leading their MAGA base.        @OlDude82 @mentallyalex @guncelawits @tomlevenson Lots of people tagged in here and I’m not trying to start an argument but I’ve gotten to know Alex fairly well over the last little while and Alex is definitely an action person.And I need to push back on the idea that we are failing or do not have impact. We’ve had great success in many places as progressives. Cynicism isn’t a tool for progress. Reality is. Action is. Hope is.

I've lived 82 years and watched the gradual move in this country from apartheid, through desegregation, to at least nominal equality, only to watch that progress crumble to dust in many states and deadlock our federal government. Have you not noticed that women are forced to carry dead babies in this country? That LGBTQ people are marginalized? That cops murder people of color?
