@Corfiot @adamdavidson except for the whole thing with the intent of the hate being that they want to scare people into silence.Curious that you got stuck specifically on "unjustified" and didn't bother to explain why you think hate campaigns are somehow good. As if it isn't possible to express oneself in a more constructive way.

@lanodan @xerz @bagder @K900 @atriix i think Linux derivatives could be listed with entries based on 'userspace types". Tiny stripped down embedded versions relying on busybox or embedded realtime-OS setups can be separated from those running on standard GNU desktop environments and also from those running Android environments.

@simon @al @troed they can certainly interpolate to new points in between what's already been done. But if you go off track far enough it gets wonky really really fast. Same as how they easily answer correctly to questions about well known facts and then rapidly descend into incoherent rambling when you ask niche questions about esoteric topics.

@Zauberin @thetechtutor the worst part is that half the dumb things they do in movies to break biometrics *actually works IRL*. It has the really really dumb security model where you need to keep the adversary away from the reader, but it's also supposed to be front line security. If you need high security with biometrics you pretty much must put an armed guard next to the reader to deter shenanigans.

@thetechtutor also the security model is vastly different, biometrics is too easy to copy and you only need to successfully copy any one print out of a large pool instead of targeting a specific person.
