Pretty sure that in 1953 both the CIA and MI6 were instrumental in influencing the elite in the Iranian government, military, and media to turn public opinion against Mossadeg which was determinant in his fall from power and the assessment on of the Shah. @tek The redeeming factor concerning HP is that their older laserjet printers just keep working. No wifi to mess with. No detector built in to see if you are using HP toner.I have two HP LaserJet P2055dn that are connected via ethernet, also does duplex.I dread the point when I will have to replace them. They've been going strong for almost 15 years so far. 🤞

@textfiles My "Get Lamp" story:1978ish. My friend's mom brought me an my friend to her work. IV Phase, in Cupertino, CA, located where the new Apple HQ is now.Inside we sat at our own terminals (I assumed tied in to some a mainframe) and brought up Adventure. The wild thing was that we could "see" each other in the text description if we were in the same room.Amazing. The experience became a gateway drug to Zork on the family Apple ][.What's your "Get Lamp" story?#getlamp#retrogames

@mikemathia They had a Burger King set up at the Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) by late April 2003. Pretty quick work.The main logistics challenge was coin change for cash purchases (credit was too hard due to limited comms and coins were too heavy to transport via air). That's when they came up with cardboard coins - I believe they were called "pogs." Instead of getting change in coins, you got a bunch of these:
