@arethsu Wow!! I'm impressed! Is this sweden? So they actually use Linux for their screens! I'm seeing BSODs or Windows errors at least once per week on public transport displays. And image / screen flickering, times / train names missing, no next stops displayed...I guess the uptime of such screens is <50% in my surroundings. That might be improved by Linux! And it's so pointless to pay for a full-blown windows stack, if a free small linux OS would be enough, more stable and cheaper!

@bane @jinxx @hackernews It's a starting point. Even the smallest community can set a sign for other platforms to follow their example. And with over 800,000 monthly active users, 2,000 right now, it's not a small community at all.And even if it was, blocking supportive Trump stuff at least can do no harm. Or are you supporting the trump administration?

Just had a "nice" discussion with a "nice" guy that called me a dumbass for not supporting #trump.I don't care if one supports trump or not. But searching for "ethic ads" should give results :)For me, the ethics in advertising are:- No animations- No bright colors / contrasts- No interference with content- No nsfw content- No tracking- No spoofing of OS / Browser dialogues ("update"-/ "AntiVirus"-scam)- No unethical content (scam-sites, viruses etc.)Maybe the ads on explainxkcd.com can be called ethic: https://www.explainxkcd.com/wiki/index.php/explain_xkcd:Advertise_Here

@gael I actually don't think that's necessary. It's basically two screens (front and back) while you can only use one. Switching between views and menus can be done easier with just one screen.And think of the ecologial footprint, that's basically two phones regarding the screen. Not to mention durability or repairability...

TIL: #GeoGebra, the open-source math plotting software, uses #Google #Analytics, even as a local desktop application. Upon launching, the first thing it does is trying to phone home, without asking the user for consent or providing any means to opt-out. I don't even think that's #GDPR compliant. Issues are closed on their GitHub repository, so they got an email from me. Let's see how this goes. I always liked the software a lot as an open-source teaching material, so I hope we can resolve this.

And as you can see, the only reason why I noticed this is because I launched it from terminal, which most users, including me, usually don't do, and because my #pihole blocked the #GoogleAnalytics request. Otherwise this would have gone completely unnoticed for me, as it probably does for most of their users.
