@purplelime @nickycolman There’s a couple of brands doing that now. It annoys me that it’s still plastic - only the toothbrush heads are bamboo, so they’re mainly trading off the ‘eco friendly’ look which is misleading 😕 But I understand why wood isn’t used for the full thing.I use LiveCoco recycled (& recyclable - they do a full return process) brush heads which are really good. They also do other dental care.

@nickycolman @purplelime Yeah I totally agree - but unfortunately my dentist insists that electric ones are much better at cleaning, so I’ll stick with them (begrudgingly). At least we make ours last as long as absolutely possible - we share one unit between us, and even though the rubber bit is falling to bits, it’s still going and we’ve had it probably close to 10 years now!

@nickycolman @purplelime Another option is the small handheld ones that have an AA battery in the handle? Less plastic and at least you could use rechargeable batteries or recycle the battery afterwards.

@nickycolman Sorry to hear that! If heat helps, hot water bottles and/or electronic heat pad are great (they’re my go-to right now)And rest. Be careful if you’re on painkillers, it can reduce your sensitivity to extreme temperature and you could burn without realising. ❤️

Dropped our little boy Mike (Wazowski) off for his dental surgery this morning. Already in tears worrying if he’ll be ok - even though he’s just under 10 years old, anaesthesia can be risky for cats so it’s always a worry. I’ll be pacing the floor until he’s home safe 😞 #catlovers

@nickycolman Yes I do love when we go into the vets and they call out “Mike Wazowski?” 😁 His official name on their letters is Mike Wazowski Johnson! He’s Mikey most of the time, ‘Michael’ if he’s naughty 😂 and ‘Mr Wazowski!!’ if he’s being a real pain.Following the pattern of our original two boys, Lilo and Stitch - he had to be a Disney name!

@nickycolman I’d really like to try it but I’ve never seen anywhere serving in reusable containers, which does my head in. I don’t do plastic unless I have to. Looks interesting though!

@jonhicks @simon this is the key thing for me: “the result of scraped internet content, from artists, that were not asked” and it’s why I won’t use tools like Midjourney. It seems like the result of stealing millions of pieces of work.

@simon That is interesting, I think I heard something about that a while ago but wasn’t familiar with Firefly. It’s a bold claim and good idea, but like you say I wouldn’t be surprised to hear complaints that people didn’t realise their work would be used for that purpose. It has to be an informed opt-in otherwise it’s not helping.

Nick and I went to #Edinburgh to catch the Strawmoddie Theatre group again, in Terry Pratchett’s #FeetOfClay. Carrot was a Geordie! Which somehow only made him funnier 😁 A couple of fun musical turns, notably Detritus playing ‘Rock Lobster’, the Python classic ‘I’m a Lumberjack’ & J-Lo’s epic ‘I’m still Nobby from the block’ 😂They’re doing more #GNUTerryPratchett plays this year so we’ll be back.
