Listening to John and Adam completely miss the real function of the national ignition facility was entertaining. It was constructed and exists solely to test and grade the old nuclear bomb material in the national stockpile. They chip a little piece out of the core of a bomb, shoot it with lasers, and see how well it is holding up after decades. This business about fusion energy is adjacent to its purpose, at best.

John’s harmonica didgeridoo and Adam’s theremin were sublime, I’d love to donate to the show at the executive producer level to support their art!!…but then I remember that they are so incredibly wrong about EVs. I guess I’ll save my money.

@thisisthebreath their historic and sustained denigration of electric vehicles on the basis of imagined impracticality has given me No Agenda PTSD. I never know when I’ll be triggered by some one of their flatly incorrect assessments of the technology or EV drivers… but I still trust the show enough to listen. I’ve put 27,000 miles on my Bolt since June, never had a problem charging or going on long road trips. The show needs more theremin.

Adam failed to recognize the historic successes achieved by #spacex this morning. The most powerful rocket in human history successfully lifted off for the first time and cleared the launch tower, successfully ascended into the stratosphere, and executed a flawless test of the flight termination system. Achieving the full flight profile through to landing off the coast of Hawaii was always a longshot, aspirational. The petty, ignorant nature of his analysis was hard to listen to. Classless.

In episode 1591, circa 1:35:00 the boys talk about how the California legislature has saved us Californians from the radical green new deal agenda zero emissions vehicle mandate that was supposed to take effect in 2035.Who is stupid enough to think that internal combustion vehicles are still going to be PRODUCED in 2035?? Seriously - this is like someone in 1912 praising the end of an impending ban on horse and buggies set to take effect in 1930… EVs are a commercial inevitability.

Between January and November 2023 more than 1 Million new battery electric cars were sold in the United States. How dumb are these drivers?! Don’t they know that electric cars are just a fad? Don’t they know that despite their lower initial purchase price and lower cost to operate that they are just shitty cars for neckbeard losers?! I mean, they are just impractical toys for Elon fanboys, right? Within a couple years our landfills will be piled high with failed EV batteries… Right guys…?
