@RealJournalism Here’s what they say: I just searched for it. https://juststopoil.org/2024/06/19/its-time-for-megalithic-action-just-stop-oil-decorate-stonehenge/

@skydog @RealJournalism Don’t worry, it’s all fixed. Interesting questions to ask yourself:Why is Stonehenge so much more significant than, say, the air we breathe? Or koalas as a species? We should feel angry against the polluters including those pouring untreated sewage into the rivers. Why issue your venom on the protesters (when no actual damage has been done)? I don’t need to know your answers, but find it interesting to think about who we get angry at & why.

@skydog @RealJournalism I'm not sure if putting corn starch on rocks is terrorism. Yes, it's a culturally significant place, and probably got more attention for all that. Glad to hear you support the cause. It is difficult to know the best way to try and make the world better, I guess they are trying to do so, the same as you and I but Just Stop Oil have chosen to try different methods than maybe either of us would.

@rameshgupta @skydog @RealJournalism sorry but I don't understand why people are so upset by these forms of protest, it's superficial, makes the point, there is some tidying up, sure, but no one has been hurt. I was shocked by the first art attack, but then stopped to wonder why, when no damage had occurred, and whether if damage had occurred that it would be so much worse than the potential climate fueled disasters we are heading for. People are already dying because we did not act in time

@futurebird would you be more upset looking back and not having done the other option?

The windowsill sundews are looking bright and shiny in the sunshine. I really like the unfurling of the flower stems too. Very effective at catching fungus gnats. #InsectivorousPlants #sundew #SavageGarden

@futurebird do you know about contacting the paper 1st author directly to ask for a copy? People are usually delighted someone wants to read their paper.

@futurebird I’ve heard of climate change being referred to as a threat multiplier, which makes sense, whatever the issue, climate impacts will make it worse.

@futurebird I managed to help get my workplace to put buying locally/ethically into their procurement policy. Was delighted that they went along with it, though I had some help from colleagues.

Saw an odd thing the other day. There was a rock by the side of the Firth of Forth with lichen growing on it. The lichen was getting lots of interest from wasps and some flies. The wasps appeared to be crawling over the lichen, maybe eating it? Is this a thing? End of Autumn stocking up for hibernation? #LichenSubscribe #Wasp

@Nonilex this is the appropriate response. More countries should be behaving the same.

Having just discovered a new hashtag #TheWorldIsStillBeautiful I saw this piece of magic today when the freezing fog lifted for a bit and the sun tried to shine through.
