Watching a video about eyelashes, woman says:“my eyelashes naturally go straight forward, rather than upwards” (said like it’s a really negative thing)I mean, everyone’s lashes go straight forward, because the purpose of eyelashes is to PROTECT our eyes from dust and other pollutants 🤔🤔🤔Femininity does do a number on women. So I just came across a post in a house organization group, where a woman was asking for recommendations about a daily cleaning schedule. Que tens of women who list a gazillion things they do ON A DAILY BASIS (at least claim to), such as mopping, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, laundry, you get it. Not a single one of them mentioned that a man is at least partly responsible for any of these chores. And they do their best to make it sound like it's super fast and easy, which as everyone above 10 years old knows is never the fucking case. Housework takes TIME. It takes a lot of ENERGY. Why would you act like it doesn't? And to other women? It seems like some kind of a super-homemaker kind of competition or something.. I've heard that similar dynamics form in motherhood groups and forums. Just why? Do they expect a medal? In what world is minimizing women's work a good idea? I don't get people, including women...

Contemporary society provides us with millions of ways to do and say stupid things. But I have to say when it comes to stupid things of the self-sabotaging kind, few things stand out for me more than US white women who are peddling the "white women have had it so easy throughout history and have practically been the oppressors rather than the oppressed" rhetoric with the hope of scoring anti-racism woke points.

So, I've been pondering over a topic for a while, related to how as a woman you can never really win (based on society's verdicts). Whatever choices you make in life, you will be mocked, attacked and/or dismissed by society, one way or another.And I think I managed to distill it into this formula:- If you display qualities or make choices which are traditionally considered to be more masculine - you are respected to a degree, but also instantly declared a failure as a woman- If you display qualities or make choices which are traditionally considered to be more feminine - you are rewarded for following your stereotypically feminine path, but are despised, mocked, dismissed as a "typical woman", i.e. automatically inferior to men

@Spring I recently made the mistake of responding to a man on FB on the topic of abortion. He literally said "if it's absolutely necessary to have an abortion, then the best thing is to do it at around the 3rd, maximum 4th week" ........ I of course pointed out that it's impossible to confirm a pregnancy this early on, let alone get an abortion, and how absurd it is that people with this little knowledge get to even state an opinion... Guess what, instead of being embarrassed about the nonsense he's spewing, he insisted that only women who don't listen to their own bodies can't tell when they get pregnant right away :D I can't with men, really I can't. How do they not suffocate from their own arrogance?

@Spring It's something I realized around the age of 20 or so, since I noticed that women get criticized for literally any choice they make, or lifestyle they choose. For me it was just another reason to live my life on my terms, not caring about others' opinions, but I was already OK with being an "outsider". For many this is much more challenging to accept and live with.
