@Cousin_Isobel My personal vote? Familial. Without giving out too much info, my family were the first homesteaders where I lived, and as such instated their own rules and beliefs (those aligning with regional ranchers from Oklahoma and dirt farmers from Louisiana) upon their community. I have a bit of a southern drawl even though I live nowhere near the American south, and even use colloquialisms that are archaic even by Southern standards.With the influx of Californians though, everything's changed. Crimerate's up, awful policies are getting through state legislature, and worst of all everyone acts like a smug buttmunch. ...God I hate Californians.

@vivernu On the Internet? Absolutely not. The nuance is lost once people can't listen/see tonal inflection and facial reactions. And due to our reliance on machines, we've slowly turned ourselves into extremes- Unable to process anything that isn't apart of our personal overton window. @everlong What I'd recommend is finding old cartoons from back in the day online that you KNOW are gonna be good and adhere to what your kid exposed to. Old Blues Clues, Bob the Builder, all that jazz. That way you don't need to worry about whatever the hell they're pushing on your kid while also not giving the slimy cable corpos a cent!

@vivernu @Tadano Agreed! The vedas, eddas, anything that isn't Abrahamic in nature is a blast to read. (Granted I'm biased since Judaism basically aped off of Zoroastrians and Islam thoroughly fucked them over after that.
