       @stux naw, that was fear and defensive mixed with a little submission. He ducked his head down and kept looking back at his human.        @fsf chromebook use is rampant in public schools and all surrounding Google- NOT in my pre-K/K class, but yes in others around our district! It’s shocking how educational professionals bought in hook, line and sinker. In fall 2021, we were assigned smart boards- I covered mine with a beautiful fabric and carried on.

       My sister tested positive Monday after 5 wks of a lower respiratory infection and sinus infection. I insisted she call her doctor to get Paxlovid (she’s 55) so she did. Her doctor actively counseled her against taking it but put in the prescription anyway. WTH, people! She was very scared due to her doctor’s comments about side effects. But last night she did it because she became much worse. Thank god she trusts her sister. Insanity. #CovidIsNotOver #Paxlovid #HippocraticOath

       An intricate COVID and Paxlovid question: my sister has had a lower respiratory infection for 6 wks, with lots of coughing, followed by a sinus infection she started antibiotics for. Gets exposed to COVID and tests RAT negative for 8 days before testing pos. She is 55, so I beg her to get Paxlovid. Never sees reduction of symptoms except headache and eye pain. Question: is it helpful to use Paxlovid in this case? Is it common to see little symptom improvement? #Paxlovid #Covid

       It’s body-snatcher-creepy the way workplaces are still organizing staff brunches and holiday parties like nothing is happening. I’m one of 3 people still masking at my school. No, I’m not having brunch with every teacher in the school four days before a family holiday when 1 in 34 people is walking around with COVID (from wastewater reports.) #CovidIsNotOver

       @ajroach42 my husband had a similar experience with a meme. They tracked it in his Facebook account four years ago- he couldn’t possibly go back and delete it. We think it was a scam or at least a scrappy way to scare people into paying. They wanted $5000 for licensing and we paid a lawyer $500 to write a challenging letter. We haven’t heard back from them.

       @aral social media has made us closer to each other and all of the world’s joys and ills are in focus. There’s no masquerading the American Dream anymore, or any other greed based fantasy. The kids have looked behind the curtain and are tearing it down. I don’t think it’s reality that bums them out. It’s the continued pretense that the system is not broken. Climate, fascism, poverty, genocide…it’s not new. But seeing the grownups knowingly participate? That’s the depressing part.
