@futurebird @mfennvt well said, old Joe can be infuriating, but a decent bloke who has also done some very good things. Most importantly, the alternative is truly terrifying.

@JKrotkov @clive Some of the ebikes I've seen on my regular walks are pretty fast, and users often don't slow down on pedestrian paths. Was on a pedestrian causeway last summer and saw two ladies each with a dog on leash scream at an ebiker who barely missed them, "slow down!" Saw a guy on an electric bike this morning on the same causeway going full tilt, if it wasn't 30 mph it was close. There were few pedestrians at the time though. Conflicts I'm sure will increase as ebike use does.

@futurebird definitely remember the tin and we ate saltines all the time growing up, I preferred them buttered. But my favorite were oyster crackers, put em in soup and especially chowder but while saltines would hang around awhile, the oyster crackers would be gone in a day. My brother and I called them Superman pills. 😂

Hogwash @guardian, they’re playing you like a trout on the line with this bullshit narrative. Everything was planned theater, they intended to humiliate Z all along, a complete set up. Now they’ll claim he doesn’t want peace. They handed you a sack of shit.https://apple.news/A4OWJHZVFQiS4cEF2nEwSpg

Finally got an OK photo of a belted kingfisher, a male, not terrific due to very gray skies and poor light, and found this wet raccoon creeping around the reeds. Our kingfishers are noisy and busy but never close enough! #Hiking #Birding #AltText

Clouds and light were terrific on the morning ramble, saw 12 beavers but all out in the lake swimming so no good photos of the furry beasts. I think that’s our highest count, so figuring the colony includes 15-20 beavers, which live in two adjacent lodges. #Hiking #AltText

@SRDas That’s a good price and the wood handle is sweet. I looked at oyster knives at a marine supply store in Astoria OR today but it didn’t have any better than what I have. I have two long blade knives for side-shucking large oysters and a short blade for hinge shucking smaller oysters we eat raw on the half shell. Both have high density plastic handles and stainless steel blades. I had fried oysters at a restaurant here last night. Disappointed, OK but not great.

Here I stand, a tiny human, at the root wad of maybe the biggest drift log I've seen, a gargantuan Sitka spruce. It's been lodged in the sand of First Beach at La Push for several years. The beast undoubtedly came down on high flows one of the rivers of the Olympic rain forests. My sweetie took the pic. #ThickTrunkTuesday #AltText
