@clive I have eBike envy but where I live there are only 2 routes out of my neighborhood. neither is safe for any bike, or pedestrian. I can’t get to a nearby grocery store or my job by bike unless something drastic is done to the roads, followed up by enforcement. It’s not a wealthy borough so it’s unlikely, & for the work journey, 3 other boroughs would have to do the same on their main streets.

@futurebird Oh God those days when offspring in school - one teacher told me offspring has ‘the look’ that means every teacher automatically singled them out as trouble. The face of an autistic kid silently and politely struggling to cope with regular classroom every day. Thank goodness it wasn’t every teacher, only(!) about half.

@futurebird that’ll work for a while, then she’ll figure it out - I had to come up with a series of euphemisms for the vet back when Mo was really sick fora year, as she kept learning them

@futurebird I met a new bug - terrible phone pix but any idea what it is please? I have loads of ants in my yard so I only noticed this because it’s bigger pair of feelers is so chunky

@futurebird There are so many ants in my yard, incl carpenter ants, I’m on the edge of a wooded hillside, so I hope her disguise is really convincing at the ant level. Obvs fooled me…

@futurebird I'm now left wondering, how does the spider know - seems to mean a lot of self-awareness, and they don't have mirrors to try out the disguise. I may never get this mystery out of my mind.

@futurebird Invading your thread bec it reminded me, I took this vid for you - how does the ant know the way home carrying such a huge (for an ant) caterpillar? I hope it means they’re clearing the caterpillars out of my lettuce bed!

@futurebird that’s good bec the cabbage whites just keep laying. I may try to net off some of the next lettuce sowing, but we’ll see how the balance of nature does first😂
