@cygnathreadbare A estos, a los del tabaco y creo que a los de las armas en los 50-60 se los llamaba los MOD por Merchants Of Death y creo que tendriamos que recoger el término porque desde luego era y sigue siendo terriblemente adecuado.

@Radical_EgoCom We have enough technological and technical means to make almost everyone to live way way better, from proper housing to food security, universal health and schooling and a bunch of other things that could be but are not just because a bunch of ultra richies wants to hoard even more and all our systems are built around it.

@Radical_EgoCom It is not such a simple question, and the answer depends largely in how the new system is stablished and a lot of circumstances that are hard to evaluate beforehand. And although revenge is useless most of the times from a logical and moral point of view, a violent removal of the elites can be seen as a revenge even if motivated for just practical reasons.

@Radical_EgoCom Agree but most probably in a way we can't conceive in our present situation. First of all, punitivism and all means of getting the poor and oppresed behind bars should be eliminated, and with this a lot more things that would make some not recognise it as actual prision.

@Radical_EgoCom The Soviet Union's space program had something the USA program never had: a cosmonautical vision, some philosophical principles and reasons why humankind should explore the universe and which steps should be taken in order to achieve that. OFC also there was the Cold War and the militar aspect was superimportant but USA was always trying just to compete and win over the USSR instead of having a proper autonomous space program that was not based in mere reaction and militar ops.

@Radical_EgoCom Also never forget that despite USA being the first reaching the Moon, the first international space station was the MIR. I point this specifically because of late it seems that the only international space station that has ever existed is the present one and I see it as a reactionary intent of rewriting history again.

@Radical_EgoCom Then, it starts again with something like "but communism" + choose anything from the black book of communism to some idiotic infographic to some historical happening in which history has been rewritten or manipulated (i. e. Katyn, Paracuellos, etc), and from there, each time you respond they will react with another dozen of factoids, history rewrites or outright lies in what is almost a thing that burdens qith sealioning by one side and the fractal fallacy on the other.

@Radical_EgoCom Even in capitalist democratic countries, laws limits free speech when hate discourse comes in. At least on paper. On practice, we know what actually happens. But its there most of times and its something you can throw when someone argue that. "Hey, have you read this article of our Constitution? It specifically says that hate speech is not covered by freedom of speech's right, so don't you dare to tell me that fascist rallies should be allowed"

@aral Ah, yes, the altar to "political stability" to which we have to sacrifice everything it seems. All BS. We had here that same discourse in Spain years ago and the so called "political stability" resulted to be three conservative liberals in a trenchcoat swearing that its all for the good of the country while reaping appart public services.
