A society where work is shared equitably can provide well-being surpassing that of today's middle classes.#communism #socialism #anarchism #libertarianism

@Radical_EgoCom We have enough technological and technical means to make almost everyone to live way way better, from proper housing to food security, universal health and schooling and a bunch of other things that could be but are not just because a bunch of ultra richies wants to hoard even more and all our systems are built around it.

@Radical_EgoCom I see a paradoxes here. First, it is impossible to provide luxury lifestyle for everyone (a-la billionaires). Imagine how 8 billion people would have a private jet each? it is even more gag than a fantasy. And, second, so called "middle class" is just a good living conditions when every family have enough live space to provide a private room for every of their children, for example. It all depends a lot on actual aspects of lifestyle provided via UBI. 🧵

@Radical_EgoCom If everyone can afford to eat meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, and all these necessary nutrients in balanced and tasty diet. Or have time for gym and other activities to stay healthy.Single problem with all that is that myth the middle class have plenty of time to spend with hobbies, family and friends. They work, work and work.Plus, there are people who have special desires or hobbies, that may require more space or time than "default settings". It all not so simple.

@koteisaev 1/5 Instead of aiming for a luxury lifestyle for all, a Libertarian Communist society should instead prioritize equitable distribution of resources to ensure basic needs are met for everyone, which would include access to food, shelter, healthcare, education, and other necessities, rather than extravagant luxuries like private jets.

@koteisaev 2/5 Constant work is not necessary for a good living standard. There needs to be a reevaluation of work and productivity, where labor is more fulfilling, automated, where possible, and where individuals have more leisure time for personal pursuits.

@koteisaev 3/5 While UBI could be part of the solution, broader systemic changes are needed, such as transitioning towards collective ownership of resources and production, where the benefits of automation and technological advancements are shared among all members of society.

@koteisaev 4/5 Community and solidarity would be important in addressing diverse desires and hobbies. Rather than relying solely on individual wealth or UBI, a Libertarian Communist society would rely on collective solutions that prioritize the well-being and fulfillment of all members of society.

@koteisaev 5/5 The notion of wealth should be reimagined from being synonymous with material possessions and instead be seen in terms of personal fulfillment, meaningful relationships, and access to opportunities for self-development and growth, basically redefining societal values away from consumerism and towards holistic well-being.

@Radical_EgoCom @koteisaev UBI is not stable given that prices can change and capitalists can lobby to change laws.

@sashin @koteisaev Agreed. That's why UBI, while a useful tool for achieving proletariat liberation, isn't a complete solution.

@Radical_EgoCom UBI, by guaranteeing survival, essentially, relieve people from the stress of "if will get fired, I will slide into poverty and will die from hunger under the bridge." type. This effect itself so nice that even itself will help people in unimaginable ways and solve plenty of problems.PS: there is no such thing as proletariat anymore, at least in US, EU or AU. Main weapons used against people there are marketing and fear of poverty. Even if it is masqueraded as"pursue of success.

@koteisaev 1/3 The idea of UBI only addresses the symptoms of poverty and insecurity without fundamentally addressing the underlying causes. It provides temporary relief from financial stress, but it doesn't address the structural inequalities inherent in capitalist systems that perpetuate poverty and exploitation.

@koteisaev 2/3 Collective ownership and democratic control of resources and production are a more effective means of ensuring everyone's needs are met, rather than relying on redistributive measures like UBI within a capitalist framework.

@koteisaev 3/3 There still is a proletariat. The working class continues to exist and face exploitation, albeit in different forms, such as precarious employment and wage stagnation, particularly in capitalist societies like the US, EU, and AU, and addressing these systemic issues requires more comprehensive solutions beyond UBI, such as implementing worker-owned cooperatives and restructuring the economic system to prioritize human well-being over profit.

@Radical_EgoCom I heard a lot about "worker-owned cooperatives" and like them a lot. It is necessary to perform a cultural and political shift away from corporations and venture capitals to cooperatives and other forms of funding, e. g. crowdfunding fairs with special limit of funding per third-party person. it is a really complex solution (in sense of affecting everything from politics to culture). But many measures are technically simple, as funding fairs & relaxed taxation regimes for coops.

@Radical_EgoCom making collective ownership effective requires reform in education for example.School itself must be place where children should see in practice how cooperation works, why and when it is better than competition, etc. How mutual aid works. How to apply principle of direct action in real life. How to avoid/prevent unnecesary hierarchy in group or organization? How to prevent/solve conflict without appealing to an authority? How to spot disinformation/lie in politics and ads?
