       Collective NDEIt is at times like this that people show their real character and what they are made of. Last year I used the term "the collective Dark Night of the Soul (DNS)" to describe what we were collectively going through. Then, this week I heard someone use the term "(collective) Near Death Experience (NDE)". After January 6, NDE is a more apt expression than DNS.

       On November 3, 2020, the Democracy (the process) died, and since, the Constitutional Republic (the system) died a slow death for two months, reaching the final death on January 6, 2021. We are now in what the Buddhists call a Bardo in classical Tibetan (中有/chūu in Japanese, meaning “middle existence” between death and rebirth), collectively having a NDE.

       Today the Americans are tested as to whether or not a sufficient number of people truly possess really invincible spirits and will never give up until victory is achieved. The defeatism expressed by all those clever people who constantly criticize Trump and give him advice which he has never asked for, will do us all in.We have no option but to win. The other option, defeat, is tantamount to death. Hence it is better to die fighting than admitting defeat before the war is called to be over.

       @Lisa22 Thank you.Norman Vincent Peale did not start the philosophy of New Thought (I traced the history back to the 16th century), but a great proponent and popularizer.Not only Trump used to attend Dr. Peale' sermons as a young boy and man but also his church is where Trump met Marla Maples  and then later had the marriage ceremony!

       @Lisa22 Thank you.William James in The Varieties of Religious Experience mentions "New Thought" and his book was based on a series of lectures given in 1901 - 1902. So the name precedes Dr. Peale. Whose naming? We don't know.New Thought flourished in the US (which makes sense), starting with the work of Phineas Quimby (1802–1866) in mental healing. Hence he is often called the originator. The UK also produced some great thinkers and writers such as Thomas Troward and James Allen.

       @Debradelai Emotional stupefaction is at the root of mental stupidity. These two show up as emotional reactivity and mental obstinacy. Those who are stupefied and stupid have a weak relationship with reality. They cannot emotionally accept and be with reality as it is and hence they react as a form of reality-denial. They cannot see reality aright and instead mentally construct a narrative ("narrative reality") as a form of reality-alteration.

We each needs to stay calm, to scale the depth of one's soul, to focus on what really matters in life, and to be prepared for intelligent and courageous action if and when called to act.To remain sane and rational in this time of madness and insanity is an accomplishment in itself.
