@tuxicoman AI hallucinations occur particularly when LLMs have been trained with multiple languages. In this case, it might have gotten its results by referring to German language training data ("das Haus") and considered the tokens interchangeable.

@mike I agree. That's how the Nazis did it, too. Though "mainstream" antisemitism already existed before, deporting and killing Jews was still considered barbaric and unacceptable. So the Nazis started not with the Jews but by eliminating any opposition. Then, from 1935 on, segregation was implemented, Jews removed from public office, rhetoric became overtly hostile to the point where physical aggression became accepted. The 1938 pogroms were the litmus test, paving the way towards Holocaust.

@Nonilex And he is still referring to him as a "Gang Member", despite the fact that even the fascist regime he chose to sold the sorry remainder of his dignity to already had no other choice than to - reluctantly- admit that the deportation was an error and he was NOT a gang member (as weren't the 75% of the deportees).

Both was BS, but a very real and practical problem remains even without Russia's and Krasnov's disinformation: those things need maintenance, updates, and upgrades for a long time ... how long will the vendor remain an ally willing to provide them?🤔

@GossiTheDog AI is à tool, like a hammer or a typewriter. If you're clumsy or illiterate, the hammer won't build you a house, and the typewriter does not help you write a letter. And if, as a lawyer, you're not able to double-check on the precedents an AI delivers, you better not use it all.AI models these days have an error ratio of around 8 - 10% - and if you're not even capable of articulating a concise and unambiguous prompt, it's even higher.

@tomjennings @GossiTheDog Translators are also LLMs and I find them quite useful (I use DeepL Pro). In my job I have to work in three different languages. And though I am fluent in all of them, it's very useful for multilingual policies, contracts, guidelines, etc. DeepL creates the draft which I then review and correct. This saves me roughly 50% of my time, compared to a translation from scratch.That said, it's only useful because I master those languages.
