       @GossiTheDog AI is à tool, like a hammer or a typewriter. If you're clumsy or illiterate, the hammer won't build you a house, and the typewriter does not help you write a letter. And if, as a lawyer, you're not able to double-check on the precedents an AI delivers, you better not use it all.AI models these days have an error ratio of around 8 - 10% - and if you're not even capable of articulating a concise and unambiguous prompt, it's even higher.

       @DP0Except that LLMs are not a tool. It's not a lever that enhances the user. They generate statistically manipulated text. They are not useful. And the creators and benefactors of them do evil. @GossiTheDog

       @tomjennings @GossiTheDog Translators are also LLMs and I find them quite useful (I use DeepL Pro). In my job I have to work in three different languages. And though I am fluent in all of them, it's very useful for multilingual policies, contracts, guidelines, etc. DeepL creates the draft which I then review and correct. This saves me roughly 50% of my time, compared to a translation from scratch.That said, it's only useful because I master those languages.
