       I wish there was a particular way to favourite a post that highlights it's the alt text you're especially appreciating. As a blind Mastodonian it's obvious to me how much work some people put into their alt text, and I'm really loving it. A simple favourite doesn't give you the extra gratitude from a community that hasn't always found social media overly accessible.

       As a blind Mastodonian who is made happy by alt text every day, I'd like to request anyone who feels inclined or able, to post and describe insects. I've really enjoyed the occasional alt text describing flying and crawling things.

       @timbray Yes. I'm blind and I use synthetic speech for hours each day. I'd compare my inner monologue or dialogue to synthetic speech sped up so fast that it's a flow of words almost indistinguishable, but where the meaning is clear.

       @twizzt Wow!!! Thank you! I've never had enough vision to see insects so this is all really exotic to me: so many colours, shapes, unfamiliar body parts. I'll never know, but I wonder if I'd find them fascinating or distasteful to look at.
