The fact that #Ukraine is in a mad rush to save people and animals downstream from the flooding contrasts sharply to #Russia, whose silence and inaction shows they truly don't care about the consequences.Trying to blame Ukraine is absurd - not only did they lack the opportunity to blow up a dam under Russian control, but they have no motive to flood the area they need to cross in their offensive, or to devastate their countryside with damage that will last for generations.

@georgetakei 1. Absolutely concur - and if the existing president's own son can be convicted, why should a former president be able to avoid accountability for his actions?2. I do wish that Biden would have taken a more hands-off approach. Hunter has seems rather rotten (corrupt?) in his business dealings for years, so when Biden publicly proclaims his son's innocence, it's not just a concerned father speaking, but POTUS.

@KimPerales I understood why Barr sided with Trump - he was acting as his consigliere.More baffling is why Garland continued the charade that defaming a woman on a purely private matter was within the scope of his presidential duties.I suspect Garland may have just figured that he didn't want to come in and reverse everything and be attacked as partisan. If so, that didn't exactly work out, as the GOP is attacking him baselessly regardless.

Addendum - this is a major reason why it's so important that courts adjudicate election fraud claims with established rules of evidence and due process, rather than elected politicians pandering to the MAGA wing of the GOP.Even Trump's own appointees, when confronted by no credible evidence of fraud, unanimously ruled against the election deniers in case after case, often with scathing language.Yet politicians, not bound by any legal standards of evidence, use those same claims repeatedly rejected in court to falsely claim fraud, and to justify trying to suppress voting.

Not only no constitutional implications, but again, who but a criminal fears a "rat"?If anyone ratted me out, it wouldn't hurt me since I don't break the law. That's a fair point to make about the message behind those attacking informants from Trump's inner circle.
