1/ Alright -- here is my not-so-good, pretty-bad weekend's 16.3-mile report:* On Saturday I finished my 35th 5K #Parkrun 25:20, almost 1.5 minutes slower than my PB (23:51) just a week ago! I even stopped to walk 3 times during the run, which never happened before!* On Sunday I finished my 11th half #Marathon 2:10:58, almost 20 minutes slower than my fastest (1:51:48) just a month ago!#running

2/ Thinking of the possible reasons, one could be the high humidity in the past two days. On Saturday we started out with 80+% humidity, and on Sunday it was 91%. The temperature was mild (~19 Celsius), but tiredness more quickly set in for me with no particular muscle soreness etc. With the 5K runs, my heart rate was routinely in Zone 5 (160+BPM), meaning a bit thicker air might have done me in.#running

3/end But it does point out I have fundamentals to improve: my heart rate is still too high, indicating I'm not efficient enough. I might need to lose some more weight, gain some muscles, improve my running form and breathing, etc. But hey, I still finished both! 1/My #Marathon 7 was done: moving time 3:46:50, pace 8'39”/mile. My PR remains 3:44:58. My son was on his e-bike, and my wife walked the first 4 miles and back (8 in total), just in time so I could catch up with her 🙂.30-second #Video.#running #PacificNorthWest

2/nThe route was Sammamish River Trail -> Marymoor Connector Trail -> East Lake Sammamish Trail. Temperature feels like 45F/7.2C. Slightly rainy with wind 9.6 mph S (headwind in the first half). My pace was pretty stable, but still feeling tired in the last 2 miles. 12oz energy drink + 4 gel packs were consumed.This concludes my 58-mile week!#running #marathon #PacificNorthWest

December #running recap: vs November my mileage dropped 222.1 → 139.2 mi (159.2 w/ walking), EG rose 6,113 → 9,977 ft, and run time fell 35 → 23 hrs. Travel to #Taiwan cut volume, though #Taipei Stadium tracks boosted EG. I missed my 200-mi month, but I’d already hit my yearly goal 2,400mi. I'm closing 2025 at 2,543.3 mi (+143). Next up: Bridle Trails 50K race on Jan 10 (https://bridle.seattlerunningclub.org). Onward!
