@boilingsteam Disagree. Just look at the Japanese box office, and which films hit #1 for many weeks out of the year.You can classify certain genres as being sub-culture, but on a whole it's certainly mainstream. For other examples, look at the advertising for canned coffees, pachinko, etc.

@boilingsteamThe majority of the movie going public are not otaku, but couples and families. It's not at all the same as things like CD sales for idol groups, which do fit the "whale" description.What about pachinko parlor advertising, and canned coffee tie ins? Canned coffee tie ins are generally all character based.

@boilingsteam Of course, like any medium there are many genres. But the medium itself is certainly mainstream. Take pachinko parlors as another example. The vast majority of those machines are anime based. You can even see anime branding on things like vegetables and produce in the supermarket.

@boilingsteam another (easier) option is sshuttle. https://github.com/sshuttle/sshuttleIt doesn't require any changes to the remote server, and works great as a poor man's VPN.

@boilingsteam I think it's due to Arch adding that simple installer recently. I would bet many people running Manjaro just wanted Arch without the installation hassle.

@boilingsteam That is also true. I was thinking about people not bothering to try it in the first place. I've seen many of it's users say they're on it because Arch was too intimidating to install.

@boilingsteam in 2024, I think Pop! being Ubuntu based is hurting it's perception. That would sound like crazy talk just 3 years ago.
