       @boilingsteam I guess #Arch is being pushed a lot by #SteamOS / the SteamDeck.

       @cryptgoat not really. This does not take account Steam Deck usage.

       @boilingsteam Magnificent, and Ubuntu inflicted it all on its own.One positive of Arch is its staying power, once you deploy and get used to it remains forever as it stays always up-to-date and rarely causes problems, and if anything goes wrong issues are solved fairly quickly and the community is great, the wiki is great, etc.

       @PalePimp yeah, there's virtually no negatives to Arch once you pass the initial learning curve.

       @boilingsteam Literally, I was an Ubuntu die-hard, I never bothered with anything but Ubuntu for desktop usage... then tired of Canonical's shenanigans, decided I was to deploy Debian, however first tried Arch for a spin at the insistence of a couple of colleagues and there is no looking back. And it is sad as I liked Xubuntu a lot for many years.

       @PalePimp Especially when you consider that learning how to install Arch is not that hard... just need to know how to read, basically 😉

       @boilingsteam So for a large portion of 2020 and beyond, debian was actually more popular for gaming than fedora? And so many people use a, in my opinion complicated distro like arch, for gaming? Really unintuitive results!

       @boilingsteam once Arch released their simple installer, the writing was on the wall for Manjaro.

       @Ben even without that, Manjaro showing utter incompetence doing anything properly was enough to convince people to move on

       @vancha a lot of Amd Gpu users need a rolling distro to get the latest mesa changes reliably. They go for Arch in larger numbers.

       @boilingsteam That is also true. I was thinking about people not bothering to try it in the first place. I've seen many of it's users say they're on it because Arch was too intimidating to install.

       @boilingsteam I see :o that makes sense, I just was not expecting the scale. I wouldn't have thought the average gamer really cared about operating systems enough to run arch tbh
