@grammargirl Uh oh, I'm about to start editing an episode, and I rely on Descript. If it's any consolation, they seem to push updates at minimum once a day, so maybe they'll fix whatever they broke.

@grammargirl Mignon, did Descript clear up for you? I haven't been on here much so I may have missed updates.

@grammargirl Glad to hear it! I've just started a new episode, and I don't know if it's something about the guest or what, but I swear the transcription is notably better than it was even on last month's episode (& it was already really good). So I'm glad it's not suddenly crapping out on us!

@grammargirl Huh! Interesting! Oddly, I'm not using it at all for video. How funny that we're both finding it so useful, for opposite uses! 😆

@grammargirl Recently there was a NYT crossword with a theme of "sesquipedalian" words and the comments were full of people who'd never heard of the big theme word, "antidisestablishmentarianism" (and were mad about it). I know it's an obscure word, but I'd thought all crosswordish people would have learned it as the factoid of the "longest word in the English language" as a kid. Though not its meaning, of course! 😆 So yeah, same here -- often wrong about others' knowledge!

@grammargirl Yeah -- there were also a lot of complaints about "obstreperous" which I just use in daily life, tbh (but then my family is odd and very language-focused). A good reminder not to assume, I guess!(I of course learned "a quick brown fox etc." when I was learning touch typing... I guess now that people don't learn that as much, it may be dropping out of style? 🤷♀️ )
