To be honest I never hear news about Mozilla, only about Google from mainstream media. I have no idea what Mozilla is doing. :furtease: I think “they’re not Google” is a dumb main reason to use a browser personally. Like, personally I use Firefox because:The developer tools are decent.It exists on every platform I use.It pretty much works all sites I use.The customisability of the UI is extensive.I can use extensions with it on my phone (which means I have a adblocker on mobile).They don’t sabotage extension functionality (my constant experience with other browsers).But, I guess I’m not a fanboy because at the end of the day because would I advocate others use Firefox? Not really. Would I advocate them use any other browser? Not really either.I don’t really have an idea what Mozilla could realistically do to get more adoption of their browser at this point.

I wouldn't mind them focusing on that, but to add to that:Embedding Gecko in the past wasn't too difficult, I remember in Second life development, it was a relatively simple interface to work with. Second life switched engine because Gecko was being both slow and a bit of a memory hog, this was pre-Quantum (before Rust). XUL was another matter, XUL used to be easy to do with XULrunner and it seemed barely used so Mozilla dropped working on it. 3rd party forks of Firefox seemed insistent on continuing to use XUL instead of just taking Gecko on its own.I feel like many developers chooses Chromium like engines because it caters to the largest audience and makes it an easy with for users, it "just works". Especially when it's the most common engine on mobile and main browser now.

I don't see centralized websites coming back, but I do see centralized apps becoming the next big thing. To be on a specific platform. Whether or not underlying technology is federated or not.

I find the iphone 14 plus awkward to use because of how iOS UI works, so I got a regular 14.I'd love to know if they made the UI work better in the 15 Pro Max for sensible single hand usage like on Android, because it isn't on the larger 14 sizes.

On most USBC standard phones, you can get the analog audio signal by shorting the CC pins to GND pins. The D− and D+ then become left and right audio pins. I would be surprised if the iPhone 15 didn't support that already.

I think they differentiate between them by calling them "active" (has own DAC) and "passive" (pass through described above).The pass through method didn't exist initially, but this has now been around for a while so I'd be surprised if it was missing on modern devices.

I think this is the first time I've had a service shutdown on me in the UK because of law changes. It sucks though and I really prefer Awoo over other instances I've tried. :furupset:
