On most USBC standard phones, you can get the analog audio signal by shorting the CC pins to GND pins. The D− and D+ then become left and right audio pins. I would be surprised if the iPhone 15 didn't support that already.

@Ash @Flaky ohh thats how analog audio is transferred via USB-C, I thought DACs were mandatory from that point.

I think they differentiate between them by calling them "active" (has own DAC) and "passive" (pass through described above).The pass through method didn't exist initially, but this has now been around for a while so I'd be surprised if it was missing on modern devices.
