@jeffparadox Well, if you're getting good feedback from kids - your target audience - I wouldn't change a thing!

@nina I wish I could! But I have problems with my SI joint, so recumbent causes more problems than "upwrong."

@nina Now I think about it, maybe it was just that recumbent at the gym. Do you think if I found one sized for me, I wouldn't have the same problem? (I am very short - 4'9")

@nina "I am open to nuanced arguments, but those don’t happen on social media." I thought spinster would be different, but mostly disappointed. 😞

@alex See also The Deacons for Defense - armed protectors of US black civil rights activists.Excerpt: "The Deacons had strict membership criteria for applicants.[8] They accepted only male American citizens over the age of 21.[8] They preferred married men with military service, as well as registered voters.[8] They refused men with a reputation for "hotheadedness."[8] They vigorously upheld their stance of only acting in defense.[8] They continued guarding CORE as a means to further the overall civil rights agenda.[8] Every member of the Deacons had to pledge his life for the defense of justice, black people, and for civil rights workers.[10]During the day, the men concealed their guns. At night they carried them openly, as was allowed by the law, to discourage Klan activity at the site and in the black community. In early 1965, Black students were picketing the local high school in Jonesboro for integration. They were confronted by hostile police ready to use fire trucks with hoses against them. A car carrying four Deacons arrived. In view of the police, these men loaded their shotguns. The police ordered the fire truck to withdraw. This was the first time in the 20th century, as Hill observes, that "an armed black organization had successfully used weapons to defend a lawful protest against an attack by law enforcement."https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deacons_for_Defense_and_Justice@AprilTui @Ilongedformuskrats @Yavanna

@alex We've wanted peace for thousands of years, Alex. And yet it seems there is no end in site to the rape, beating, forced childbearing, killing of baby girls, genital mutilation, ad nauseam. So you'll have to excuse me if your grand calls for peace and no violence make me a little ragey.

@alex "The software is proprietary, centralized, and full of bugs." Have you ever considered that the DNC may consider these features, not bugs? πŸ€”@a

@alex "All voting software should be open source, developed by universities and reviewed publicly by security researchers. Not developed secretly by for-profit companies. This is such a simple thing, the fact it's not this way makes me lose faith in humanity."Agreed. You're young and I hate to stomp all over your idealism, but they don't really want us to have democracy. People are going to have to wake up and fight for it if they want one.

@nina Why? Just curious. Until yesterday, I thought it was a little over-hyped. Just take sensible precautions, just a new flu virus. But the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases saying yesterday that it's 10 times worse made me rethink a trip to a conference in Chicago next month. Thinking about all those conferees coming through an international airport and me being over 60 (thought pretty healthy) I'm thinking I'll give it a miss...

@alex Partly right. It's not the eating them, it's living in too close proximity with them and/or breeding in cramped, filthy conditions. E.g., bird flu jumped from birds to humans b/c Asians were bringing their chickens into their homes at night to prevent them getting stolen. @Mikoto
