I think it is time for me to buy a 3D printer. I haven't owned my own for about a year now (since I moved to NYC) but sharing one at a makerspace has its disadvantages. I am looking for recommendations.I'm looking to spend like $500-1000 USD for a 3D printer. Most critically, I want something that I generally don't have to tinker with too much. It's fun, but I have other priorities now.I'd also like some kind of multi-material, single-nozzle setup, like Bambu's AMS.Nice-to-haves (not required):- Enclosure (ideally including the filment spools)- More open is better, but not requiring the cloud is a bare minimumWould love some recommendations (: especially would love perspective about how they compare to Bambus (which, ethical concerns aside, anecdotally seem to be very reliable. I will not be getting one ofc but the reliability is very nice)

I have a few potential printers in mind but I don't want to bias anyone so I'm intentionally not saying what they are yet

@spycrab oh sorry I think I misinterpreted, is this a prusa recommendation? I was looking at them briefly but they're expensive

@n3tcat I have the Prusa Core One and it very much ticks the "no faff, just works" requirement. Single material machine as a kit comes in within your budget, I think; the INDX upgrade looks incredibly promising for multi material, but pricier than first predicted.

@n3tcat (The one slight frustration I have is that, coming from the older i3 MK3, it seems to spend longer getting ready to print. Once going it's massively faster, but the extra couple of minutes fixed cost is a bit annoying for very small prints that you want to quickly iterate on the design of.)
