       @mono there's always a probability of crysis while elections happen (in Japan's case it is probably small, in other places it's reliably large 😺)I didn't say it's rational, this is the stock market after all, it's probably something along the lines of "whee, trepidation over, new boss same as old boss, back to business"

       @mono Yes, but also because it's not the same guy buying everything, it's different guys buying different things because they think they will be profitable under the newly elected. Since it's a whole bunch of investors, they end up investing in everything as a whole, so everything goes green.It's like you saying "S will go up if moon marries, P and W will go down", augustus saying "P will go up if moon marries, S and W will go down" and me saying "W will go up if moon marries, S and P will go down" so moon marries and we all buy our letter, meanwhile hakui had all her money on shiny rock and looks at the chart and goes "wow everything went up"

       @mono Also this applies only in countries where all the candidates are considered by the market to be moderate or rational in economic matters. In countries where you have really unhinged or far leftoid (economically) candidates, the markets can crash really bad after a bad election. I've made money off that.
