RE: https://ec.social-network.europa.eu/@EUCommission/115962166620353999This is great news. In Iceland and Norway we have been fortunate enough to have plenty of hydro power, so use of oil has been mostly related to cars and ships. Both countries have taking large steps towards EVs, with sales of EVs at 95% in Norway at this time. The goal should be to be as independent from oil as we can be. #EU #Europa #Iceland #Norway #GlobalWarming #Technology #Politics

@jon Hey Jon, remind me again, how does Norway make most of its money?

@aral @jon Depending on your definition, stock profits gained us 247 billion USD for the sovereign fund in 2025.(But indeed, fossil fuel profits were around ~$60 billion, added into the sovereign fund to grow further. Norway is "helped" further by Ukraine occupation, of course, driving gas prices higher. We aren't getting high of our own supply, but we are hypocrits.)
