       @hazlin it's a pattern I can't unsee: they get people debating the wrong questions based off faulty assumptions and nothing goes anywhere.AI "sentience" is an absurd thing to worry about but the debate manufactures consent for control over general purpose computing.

       @gabriel that is literally happen on every topic. Everyone end up talking about pie in the sky bullshit. While bad things continue to happen.Personally it took me a while to realize that talking against AI "because it isn't good enough to be useful" was actually a distraction.The real issue is that there are mass layoffs. AI grows more useful all the time, it IS useful right now. One person can do much more work with a good AI.The real problem is corporations own everything, and now they are pushing the common people into poverty. It doesn't matter if AI is capable or not. It matters what the rulers of society are doing, that they are miss treating people. And in a bazaar way, AI is getting the blame "oh got laid off because of AI" what utter nonsense!
