@xaetacore @alex Hm, I understand, people are mostly interested on the latest, Lemmy might have longer time periods for its forum base, I guess, but I don't quite understand why Matrix would have longer term than Misskey, probably because of the custom channels, right?But I mean... What people use it to? I haven't ever met someone like me, and I have met lots of people!! I recently won the first price of an informatics convention at the university (would be pleased to tell the exact one, but I don't want to get doxed my first day here :shiro_sad:), I was offered different jobs and met lots of people that should have been like me!That among other experiences last year made me realice that I am unique, which would be a good thing if I was any good at socialicing! Not that is hard for me to meet people, but I don't seem to have the ability to entertain other people long enough, I try my best cause I see I am too different from others, but its just that I can't, guess the same may happen with online people.

@xaetacore @musha @alex Hm, I see, I like walking in the night out there as there aren't many NPC's loaded in the street, but I also feel a bit scared of getting looted alone...Around here, people in pubs are mostly just alcoholics and not exactly the best kind of people... Some years ago I used to spend most of my time with my dad and some random people in that kind of places, but it was horrible, I genuinely didn't met a single reasonable or worth person in those. On Ireland and with a group of friends I used to have I had the experience you describe! But in my city I think it's not a good strategy...

@musha @xaetacore @alex I never felt forced into drinking, I was even scared about it, like the "I am never-ever drinking alcohol in my life!", but at the end of high school I befriend with a guy that already had failed two years of school and by the context, you can guess why... He didn't force me at all, may helped but it was completely my choice to start drinking and in general begin with drugs with him then... During that and maybe next year I prooooobably had a small kind of addiction, but it didn't last much. I enjoyed my time with him and did lots of crazy stuff, but I always knew that he wasn't worth it and despite already being an adult when he knew me (I was still underaged, as I never failed a year in school...), he is still being really immature today. I haven't talked with him in some years, but I still hear from him to time to time and it always makes me sad, he is just like a child on his grown up body!And all of this while I have half bottle of Absolut Vodka in my desk... It has an explanation, okay...? It was a leftover from last time I partied out there... Probably my last time ever... And now I don't know what to use it for, I don't want to drink it alone! :nacho_dead:

It just makes lot of sense and I love the lemon taste, so maybe it can work? However, unlike ginger, vodka is IMPOSIBLE to drink without mixing it with something else, unless you are drinking shots (something I haven't ever tried), so it may go from 'nice taste' to 'drinkable' :defeated_akko:

I don't really get that 'motion sickness' anytime, I could play for several hours without issue, but it is unhealthy and the VR usually ends up overheating and without battery after 1 - 2 hours. But couldn't you make something up with the ginger root? Capsules as a supplement are something I haven't heard about.

I could probably walk down to my local Aldi and pick up an X bus from there which significantly cuts down on some of the time. Problem with that, though is I would end up having to walk there and back going to and coming back from campus. The bus I did take on the other hand was just a street away from my house, and taking my Steam Deck did help with alleviating the border until it eventually ran out of battery half way there.@superboom12s @xaetacore @alex @musha

As far as I know, the common thing is that using your phone, reading and that kind of thing makes everything worse, looking out of the window and stuff should help (probably this helps me to not notice that I have this problem, as even in several hour trips (like 8h+, that I find impressive I don't get bored) I like to look outside all the time), have you tried it or it doesn't work for you?

I don't personally own a phone and they've became literal mobile surveillance devices, so I usually take my Steam Deck with me to play some vidya gaems while in transit. The bus I took went through three towns and stopped at every bus stop on its route. That is primarily the reason why it took upward of an hour and a half before reaching my destination. Around about four quarters of the way, my Steam Deck would usually run out of battery. Only thing I could do from that point onward is to look out of the window at the passing streets and fields. Right now I only have it to be able to contacted with Telegram (since I stopped using Whatsapp and any other social medie, excepting Mastodon and now Misskey, but I don't have them on my phone), usually without internet. I want to slowly stop using it completely and only have a 'dumb' phone to be able to call others whenever I need. The only thing that I am afraid of is UK, you are forced to own and use a mobile phone there and I am afraid that it will be the same here in a close future... :nacho_dead:Being alone with your thoughts some time each day is a good thing, or at least something I like, but have you considered investing in a external battery for the deck? You could even use an old modded phone to charge it, in case you have one.

I usually try to keep at least one Chromium and Firefox-based browser on my system at any given time. There really aren't any better alternatives at the moment. With Ublock Origin on the way out, it is the only browser with that kind of functionality built in due to it being a fork of it. @Saorsa @alex @xaetacore @musha If you want an alternative to Brave that has also that kind of functionality, I recommend Helium, its based on ungoogled chromium (a pretty good alternative too) and has some privacy-focused changes, one of them is the native ublock Origin. For the Firefox, I have Tor browser as it also serve as the Tor client, but I rarely use it.I would give it a try if its the first time you hear about it! Brave is not a bad option either if you care to configure it, but I don't like it's ideas and his extremely homophobic creator.I would also take some advice, specially with Android browsers, I don't use it much, so I do use Brave there, but Helium isn't avaliable for Android, so if you have better chromium alternatives, let me know.

For IoT to be used in the manner it has, they have to make their build for it slim and include the functionality for managing those clients with Windows Server or Azure. So it is guaranteed to be light. I tend to avoid Flatpaks like the plague.
