alright, finally waking up after the meetings day... I missed both of the two obvious connections for Brussels/FOSDEM but perhaps I can still make it tomorrow. But hot damn why does sleeping all day suddenly feels so pleasant instead of devastating?

LoLSo, last night before I shut down I was trying to book the flights and found out that Revolut Business had frozen the money I was trying to move to my personal S-Pankki, meaning my card was empty and I had to wait until today.Today I check S-Pankki app, see the money, go for the groceries (yeah I don't always bother with cash at the local)... [blah blah blah error message in Finnish]. I check the app, it still works, I go to the card list to see if it's blocked... the list is empty 🤡

TLDR The other day I sent them a message about a merchant charging direct debit and ignoring emails, like "hey can you cancel and start whatever the process". They instead closed the card and wrote "now use the app to log into the web app and find this button in that menu to request opening a dispute"#Compliance and #Incompetence, why does my livelihood have to depend on as ridiculous an industry as modern fucking #banking

Phew. Back home after FOSDEM. Thankfully, Finnair supports a "Pay by [Finnish] Bank" flow charging directly an IBAN account and completely bypassing VISA. STIB-MIVB and DE LIJN also still keep around the coin slot ticket machines, so that took care of the commute. In total, managed to get by with: about 20 euros in coins, 20 in bills, a bunch of cabs covered by friends, gratis Cfgmgmt beers and sushi, two encounters with the police, a fortune for Finnair, and uncontainable hate for S-Pankki
