       The Unstable SMP collective and videos are really something new, that simply could not have existed in any other form before.Collaborative storytelling is absolutely fascinating.

       The way it incorporates game mechanics and newly created machines into the narrative is something I love. In films, you have to either assume the audience understands enough, or just "magic", but given the Minecraft background of viewers, and the visible nature of mechanisms, you don't need to explain anything. Viewers can simply assume a way a machine works, or analyze and build it themselves just by looking at it.

       @lynne consider update suppressionIt doesn't make sense unless you know that the server propagates block updates recursively, and that this can lead to stack overflow, which will throw StackOverflowError, which will get caught at some point, leading to a partial update.And if you don't know which update sources do not have that try-catch around them, you can crash the server.If you don't know any of that, it looks like magic.

       @lynne and more importantly, I think if functions as a magic system:It allows highly skilled characters to resolve conflict through powerful mechanics that feel unrealistic by the standards of the outside world.
