Biddiocracy update. About two minutes ago I quit the HOA board. I really wanted to devote my time to fixing the stuff at the condo that really needed fixing. I failed spectacularly.On a good note, I never need to officially deal with an HOA-board-Tool-TX slack-vampire again.With no power comes no responsibility - Uncle Ben's Corollary"METH SOLD THERE" - Tool TX

@johnhattan This seems like a Slack-increasing move, and thus excellent.

@bobcromwell very much so. In the words of Rodney Dangerfield on signing his divorce papers, “I feel like I got parolled!”

@hobbs I think I knew we were at an impasse when “can I fix the hole in the back of building B where the squirrels get in?” was met with “You gonna figure out how to pay for that?”Meh.I live in building A.So, to quote Ayn Rand, let them go to hell.

@johnhattan HOA doesn’t seem to be one of those “if you can’t beat em, join em” things. More like “if you can’t beat em it’s because you’re BETTER THAN THEM.” or something some clever pipe-wielding sage once uttered to sacred scribes.

@Unabart bottom line, this little condo (built in the 1980’s), has been in a state of steady decline for the past ten years. I really wanted this place to be a nice little cheap enclave for locals to throw a hook in the water, rent a sea-doo, drink a beer, and gain a teensy amount of slack. It has a ton of potential to become that, but a redneck “everything is fine the way it is” attitude coupled with a lack of funds has condemned this place to remain a dump.And I’m done trying to change it.

@johnhattan I don’t blame you for walking from it. The meth sign doesn’t exactly invite day trippers to the property, however funny it is. My last hoa wouldn’t clean the rain gutters over my patio. Same shit… no money for that, also it never rains that hard in San Diego. Though they had a party with a dj that summer. Well, El Nino gave us hard rain, the gutters did not channel, my patio flooded and ruined some carpet. Had to lawyer up. Had the saved emails. Slam dunk, but pita all the same.

@Unabart it's 20f out. Pool isn't fun anyway.
