Do you have trouble drinking enough water in the cold dry winter months?I've found my solution is "have a fancy cup" I have a glass straw, and a titanium insulated cup with ice cold water. Always drink it empty without thinking about it much. But just get something you are attracted to. Yes, it's the same water in "any cup" but I don't think my deeper brain agrees.

@futurebird The trick for me is the "ice cold" part. I'll drink water all day long if it's sufficiently cold. Warm? Yeah, not happening.

@futurebird This is a cool coincidence. I'm in a store shopping for a water bottle right now . Saw the nurse last week and they said my kidneys are struggling a bit cos, apparently, coffee isn't a substitute for water. So I thought, I need a fancy water cup. đŸ™‚

@futurebirdI have a special faucet that dispenses special water. It even has a name: Upstairs Bathroom Winter Water. Everybody in the house, including the cat, drinks it by the gallon. It goes away in the summer.

@shapr @nazokiyoubinbou I'm a big fan of the "kepo boomboom cup" because the lid is fun to play with and it has no ridges to screw in the lid, it's just smooth. The ridges really bothered me for no rational reason.

@nazokiyoubinbou @shapr It's popular in South Korea and at this point I trust their stores more than the US to get such things right. Really the quality of things made for the big city China and SK markets is always higher than what they send to the US. There are things we never even see.

@nazokiyoubinbou @shapr Basically I'm at the point where I regard amazon as *more* sketchy than aliexpress ... while they are both in their own way sketchy.

@nazokiyoubinbou @shapr The insulation effectiveness of the "boomboom cup" and "revomax" which have similar design is so intense it's a bit much. When I fill it with hot tea it's still too hot to drink hours later. Cold water stays cold for like 5 hours. It's wild. I don't really need an insulated cup much I mostly don't use the lid. But it's neat that it works so well.
