ugh. my TV is displaying 4:3 content (coming in over RCA! this is analog NTSC video! from a laserdisc!) as 16:9, by just cropping off the top and bottom.the worst part is that there doesn't seem to be any options to fix this

I don't have the correct remote for this TV, so it might be as simple as there being a "zoom/aspect ratio" button on the remote that's simply not on my generic programmable remote

@foone What’s the output format of the Laserdisc player? Component? Composite? You could probably pick up an HDMI upscaler and take the control away from the TV.
