Since my blog is catching up with my stitching, I thought I would revisit Stella's Birds..The inspirations are Elizabeth Goudge's book, "Gentian Hill", medieval imagery and Mountmellick embroidery. That's quite a lot to juggle, isn't it!#HandEmbroidery #StellasBirds #MountmellickEmbroidery

@virtuosew I like such simplicity yet elegance in the same.

@virtuosew I enjoy, my daughter draws and much like yours every line is intentional, I draw but my method is iterative, I start with roughing in with charcoal, then erasing and adding in details, a painful process and it completely lacks the elegance of your approach. I enjoy your ability to make such a coherent image with so few strokes, it is an economy I can't come close to realizing and also beautiful.

@nanook My process is iterative, too. I do a lot of rough, separate sketches, and try to learn the shape of the line I want. What you see here is the endpoint of that process. But not the end of the work, because this is a design for embroidery!
